Client
Brentford Football Club, a professional football club with training facilities in West London.
Requirement
As part of COVID-19 safety measures, Brentford FC required temporary structures to supplement its existing changing and canteen areas. The goal was to provide additional, well-ventilated space where staff and players could change and dine safely, in compliance with government guidance, while maintaining efficient day-to-day operations and training schedules.
The club needed two long-term modular buildings on hire for more than six months, durable, secure and comfortable enough to withstand year-round use.
Challenges
- Existing facilities were too compact to accommodate both first- and second-team squads while maintaining distancing requirements.
- Summer gazebo solutions proved unsuitable for winter weather.
- The temporary dining structure needed proximity to the main canteen and clear views of the training pitches.
- Both buildings had to integrate neatly within a restricted site footprint while allowing easy access between pitches and existing facilities.
Our Solution
LM Structures supplied and installed two purpose-built temporary sports buildings on a long-term hire basis, designed to replicate the comfort and functionality of permanent facilities.
12 m × 6 m Changing Facility
- Hard wooden flooring finished with charcoal carpet for durability and comfort
- Lockable UPVC double doors with glass panels for natural light and security
- Separate entry and exit routes to support one-way movement
- Thermostatically controlled warm-air heating system for consistent comfort
- Integrated electrical distribution and lighting
27 m × 3 m Dining Facility
Positioned on a 3.6 m-wide concrete path beside the existing canteen, the dining structure provided an efficient link between food service areas and outdoor training zones.
- Secure anchor fixings drilled into the concrete base for full stability
- Clear PVC window walling offering visibility of the training grounds
- Roof-mounted, ducted warm-air heating system with thermostat and timer control
- Perspex safety screens to support safe dining layouts
- Tables and seating supplied for immediate operational use
Outcome
The project delivered robust, weather-resistant temporary facilities that enabled Brentford FC to operate safely and efficiently through the winter season.
Both structures provided the club with flexible, high-quality space that looked professional, felt comfortable and supported training continuity without disruption.
